Final Fantasy XIV's PS5 Edition Launches May 25 With Update 5.55


Having just released new information about Final Fantasy XIV's upcoming Endwalker expansion, fans on PlayStation 5 have got further cause to celebrate. Recently undertaking an open beta for XIV's PS5 edition, Square Enix has confirmed it'll formally launch on May 25.

Announcing this news via Twitter, XIV's latest edition comes with several improvements. Alongside nearly 100 new trophies, this PS5 version boasts faster load times, 4K resolution support, high resolution UI, 3D audio support and DualSense haptic feedback.

Final Fantasy XIV's PS5 Edition Launches May 25 With Update 5.55

It'll drop alongside Update 5.55 as a free upgrade for PS4 owners, which includes part two for the "Death Unto Dawn" scenario, updates to "Save the Queen", rewards if you collect all the Triple Triad cards, alongside "YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse" epilogue quests.

Furthermore, Square Enix also offered a new content roadmap, so players can expect these updates in the coming months.
