With the first month of 2020 nearly over, it’s time to look at the potential January Player of the Month winners that we may be seeing released in the next few weeks in FIFA 20 Ultimate Team.
With the Premier League, Ligue 1, Bundesliga and La Liga all in action this month, this article will cover the predicted winners and release dates for all 4 POTM SBCs, as well as potential investments and costs for each.
Player Of The Month Predictions
Here are the players I think will make this month's POTM selection.
Premier League POTM - Sergio Agüero
Estimated Release Date: Friday 14th February
With 6 goals, 1 assist and 1 MOTM this month, it’s hard to look past Aguero for January’s Premier League Player of the Month.
For investments, I’d look solely into SBC fodder such as Premier League cards, Manchester City cards, and general cheap high rated items.
Link investments may do okay, with wingers like Sterling and Mahrez providing good links out wide.
Estimated SBC Cost: 750,000 - 900,000 Coins
Ligue 1 POTM - Neymar
Estimated Release Date: Friday 21st February
Despite being snubbed of a few POTM awards in the past, I can’t see past Neymar for the January POTM award for Ligue 1, with 5 goals, 1 assist and 2 MOTMs.
With the next highest goal contributors only having 3 goal contributions, it’s hard to make a case for anyone other than the Brazilian winning the award.
Investing wise, expect very high rated squads to be required, meaning the likes of Oblak should rise highly if Neymar is released.
Furthermore, with Mbappe being the best link to Neymar, expect him to rise if the SBC is reasonably priced.
Estimated SBC Cost: 1,750,000 - 2,000,000 Coins
Bundesliga POTM - Erling Braut Håland
Estimated Release Date: Monday 17th February
What a start the Norwegian youngster has had for Dortmund, bagging 5 goals in 2 substitute appearances.
With only Sancho close to him in goal contributions, it’s hard to see anyone other than Haland winning the award for January Bundesliga POTM.
When investing, despite Haland being a very hyped player, I can’t see the SBC requiring too many super high rated squads, so sticking with general 84-87 rated cards may be best.
Link investments should do really well if this SBC is affordable, with Dortmund players likely to rise well with people getting Haland into their squads.
Estimated SBC Cost: 400,000 - 500,000 Coins

La Liga POTM - Casemiro
Estimated Release Date: Wednesday 5th February.
La Liga’s POTM for January is a really difficult one to choose, with not many players having had amazing months in terms of goals scored. Nevertheless, I think Casemiro could be in with a shout, with 2 goals, 1 MOTM and a string of solid performances for Madrid this month.
I wouldn’t go crazy investing for this SBC, as Casemiro isn’t overly meta, and probably won’t be completed by many FUT Players.
Estimated SBC Cost: 250,000 - 300,000 Coins
