In Far Cry 6, certain characters will react differently depending on whether or not your gun is holstered. This includes double agents and certain search areas where guards patrol regularly. Far Cry 6: How to Holster Your Weapon

In Far Cry 6, whether or not you have your weapon holstered will have an effect on how you are treated by others. To holster your weapon, hold LB/L1 and use the weapon wheel to select the 'Holster Weapon' option. This will put your weapon away.

When Should You Holster Your Weapon?

You'll want to holster your weapon when approaching Double Agents. These are NPCs that will trade money for information. Visit our Money Making guide for tips on getting more Pesos. You'll also move faster when your gun is holstered, and will be detected more slowly by guards in certain areas. There are a few areas of Yara where you're technically allowed to walk around and explore, but having a gun can antagonise nearby guards.
