Destiny 2's Season of the Splicer is here, but what everyone has been waiting for is the return of the Vault of Glass.

What is the Vault of Glass? It was Destiny 1's first raid, and launched in 2014. Mixing the shooter gameplay of Destiny with puzzle elements and a focus on teamwork, it became legendary among Guardians for its exciting encounters and great loot.

Destiny 2 Vault of Glass Release Date and Time

The Vault reopens on May 22, which is today, and players will be able to find it in the Director menu from 6 PM BST (10 AM PT).

Players might need to log out or change character to be able to see the updated activities.

If you're planning to use Star-Eater Scales on your Hunter, though, Bungie has confirmed the exotic boots will be disabled for the first twenty-four hours.

Destiny 2 Vault of Glass Changes

Bungie has promised some changes to the raid which should mix it up for veterans.

At present, though, we only know of some changes.

  • The Raid will be found on the game's Director, not on Venus (since Venus isn't part of the game).
  • Mods will be equippable to offer buffs for certain encounters.

Destiny 2 Vault of Glass Mods

One Destiny dataminer has uncovered a series of mods in the game's files which will offer buffs for Vault of Glass runs.

Destiny 2 Vault of Glass Rewards and Loot

The headline weapon returning appears to be the Vex Mythoclast, which was datamined. This isn't confirmed, but the exotic fusion rifle is expected to be one of the big returning weapons.

That's not all, though. Here's what we expect, thanks to a variety of leaks:

  • Found Verdict - Shotgun
  • Vision of Confluence - Scout Rifle
  • Corrective Measure - Machine Gun
  • Fatebringer - Hand Cannon
  • Hezen Vengeance - Rocket Launcher
  • Praedyth's Revenge - Sniper Rifle

There are also three armour sets, at least according to Redditor Testifye.

These will be Pinnacle Drops, too.

If you're looking to re-roll gear, it appears a chest will allow players to re-roll gear by spending Spoils of Conquest.

Destiny 2 Vault of Glass World's First Race

As with prior raids, Bungie will offer a reward to the first group that finishes the Vault of Glass.

You can watch Professor Broman's tailgate event to keep up with the leading teams.

This time around, though, things are a little different. Since many players have already finished it, you'll need to get through it on Contest Mode. Once that's done, players need to tick off a series of Triumphs to be able to claim the belt:

Guardians can also earn reward codes for a ring and a snazzy Vault of Glass jacket, too.

As a note, Bungie has said that they have identified an issue allowing players to push raid bosses off of ledges. Anyone who uses this strategy will be disqualified from the World First race for Vault of Glass.

So, there will be no cheesing this raid.
