Back in the 7th generation of consoles, Crysis was revered as one of the best-looking first-person shooters of its era and the gameplay wasn’t half-bad either, with many fans falling in love with the gorgeous graphics and fluid shooting. Though the franchise hasn’t had a new game in years that looks to be changing with leaks suggesting that a battle royale in the franchise called Crysis Next could be coming soon.

While battle royale games have become something of a meme in the gaming fandom, Crysis Next could be the fresh start this franchise needs after years of inactivity and the recent Crysis Remastered not really making much of an impact, with fans hoping that this will be a decent game in its own right that might also lead to an eventual Crysis 4.

What Is Crysis Next?

Leaks have described Crysis Next as an unannounced free-to-play battle royale that will reportedly house hundreds of players with the series’ signature fast-paced combat and nanosuit capabilities.

There has also been leaked footage that shows an interesting amount of details, including a third-person perspective.

When Is The Crysis Next Release Date?

We don't know when Crysis Next is coming, but leaks have suggested it'll be 2022. Still, with the game being a battle royale, there's a good chance players will get to jump into a beta.

Alas, the only footage we've seen so far has been a wobbly, off-screen piece of footage that has since been removed from circulation.
