As the arrival of Season 1 for Warzone Pacific comes closer, the community is excited to drop into the brand-new Caldera map for the first time. With Activision continuously revealing more details on the map's points of interest (POI) through its postcards, plenty of gameplay changes have been made to the hugely popular battle royale.
As more details continue to emerge, an eagle-eyed Reddit user has managed to spot that many of the locations are inspired from some in the real world. Warzone is no stranger to taking inspiration from certain locations as Verdansk featured several buildings that heavily resembled structures in and around Europe.
Caldera Map Real-Life Locations
Reddit user 'Metaforze' posted pictures of real-life locations that have been taken as inspiration for several buildings that will appear in Caldera. So far, a total of five locations have been based on areas of Hawaii, other Pacific Islands, and France.
The five real-life locations that have been revealed are -
- Ali’iolani Hale, Honolulu, O'ahu
- Haleakala Observatory, Maui
- Ford Island Control Tower (Pearl Harbor, O'ahu)
- Royal Hawaiian Hotel, Honolulu, O'ahu
- Lorient Submarine Pen, France (Keroman III)
The post instantly created a buzz amongst the community, "Honestly the map looks so clean. Lots of colors, cant wait to see in-game" one user replied.
Is Caldera A Real Island?
The island of Caldera isn't a real Pacific island but it is a hollow area that appears shortly after the magma chamber from a volcanic eruption has been emptied. The name heavily implies that the dormant volcano could well erupt. Could a volcanic eruption be the first major event to take place in Warzone Pacific? We will have to wait and see.
