A Call of Duty blog post published on November 30th outlined numerous changes that Raven Software has made to a variety of features that have often been a hot topic of debate amongst the community. The first major change involves Lethal and Tactical equipment that's available to use as part of a loadout. Stun Grenades and Heartbeat Sensors have received much-needed nerfs while other pieces of equipment will now deal more damage than before.

Warzone Pacific Loadout Drops

The second major change involves the Loadout Drops. They can only be bought from Buy Stations after the first Loadout Drop event takes place during a match, meaning players must rely more on ground loot to make it into the latter stages of a match. It will be very interesting to see what players spend their cash on in the early stages of a match if they're no longer able to gain access to their preferred loadout quickly.

Many players have been caught out by removing their Gas Masks when emerging into a new circle, which is why changes have been made to how they are equipped and removed.

"Gas Masks won’t interrupt as many actions as they did previously, making it easier to pull your mask off or on, as well as plating up or reloading a weapon while getting out of the Circle Collapse – but still always favoring the combat advantage to those safely inside the circle."

Can You Swim in Warzone Pacific?

Considering the wealth of water that surrounds Caldera, many players have been wondering whether a swimming mechanic will be arriving to Warzone. Players won't be able to swim like in other Call of Duty titles, but they will have the ability to move through shallow water. Crouching in the water will give players the same effects as the Cold Blooded Perk while using fire-based equipment will now cause smoke when they hit the water, which could allow players to escape to safety if they encounter an opponent.

Warzone Pacific Contracts

  • Big Game Bounty - Bounty contract that targets the player with the highest number of kills.
  • Supply Drop - Drops a crate of valuable items onto the map. All players can access the crate but only the contracted squad know its location.
  • Top Secret - A mysterious contract that's a secret until it's picked up. Offers greater rewards compared to other contracts.
