Despite Season 5 Reloaded of Black Ops Cold War not featuring a new round-based map, there has been plenty of content to satisfy the demand of the community as they patiently wait for the fourth Zombies map to release in Season 6. Alongside the launch of The Numbers event, Treyarch has added a hardcore twist to the popular Outbreak mode.
Known as Outbreak Survival, the new Zombies experience removes several useful features to create a more challenging experience for those that want the difficulty to be turned up a notch. Here's absolutely everything you need to know about Outbreak Survival in Black Ops Cold War Zombies.
Cold War Outbreak Survival Mode
As soon as a match begins, you'll notice some huge differences from the standard Outbreak mode. Rather than entering the action with a loadout of your choice, you will spawn in with a 1911 pistol with no additional firepower, adding a bit more of a challenge to the early rounds. There are no Blueprints to fall back on either, making the process of acquiring stronger weapons as the game progresses even harder.
Alongside the lack of weaponry, the head-up display (HUD) has also undergone a makeover, with various elements hidden including the minimap. Without a minimap, communication and awareness of your surroundings are the key ingredients to success in Outbreak Survival.
Automatic health regeneration is a thing of the past in this LTM. When taking a hit from an undead opponent, the health bar will no longer refill which can prove problematic when pinned down by a group of enemies with no chance of escape. In order to restore health, food has been added across all regions so be sure to keep your eyes on the health bar before it gets too low!
When Does Outbreak Survival Leave?
Despite the unique twist to Outbreak, you'll have to be quick if you want to get a taste of the action as Outbreak Survival won't be in Cold War Zombies for very long. As it's part of The Numbers event, the mode will be disappearing on October 5th.
