The FFAR 1 Assault Rifle in Black Ops Cold War bears a heavy resemblance to the Famas that featured in the very first Black Ops title that was released over a decade ago. While the weapon was quickly nerfed in the first few weeks of the game, it's never managed to re-establish its position in the Black Ops Cold War metagame with Season 6 in full swing.

With a minimal amount of weapon tuning expected to take place in Season 6, the likelihood of the FFAR 1 dominating multiplayer is slim, but with the best FFAR 1 attachments equipped, you can still get the upper hand over the opposition. In this guide, find the best FFAR 1 Cold War loadout to use!

FFAR 1 Cold War Overview

Unlocked at Level 40, the FFAR 1 is the final Assault Rifle to unlock in Black Ops Cold War.

Armed with an extremely high rate of fire and a quick reload speed, the rifle can put up a strong fight against SMGs at close range.

But with just 25 bullets in the magazine as standard, you may find yourself reloading more often than getting stuck into the action.

You'll want to adjust your setup to cover its weaknesses; high recoil and small magazine sizes.

The FFAR 1: The best AR in Black Ops Cold War?

If you're finding the weapon a bit too difficult to control, trying attaching the Field Agent Grip to reduce the vertical and horizontal recoil.

The Raider Stock is also a good option for those that want to speed up the sprint to fire time at the expense of some hip-fire accuracy.

Best FFAR 1 Cold War Class

  • Flashguard .45 APC (Muzzle)
  • 5.63” Takedown (Barrel)
  • Steady Aim Laser (Body)
  • Fast Mag (Magazine)
  • Speed Tape (Handle)

The 1911 pistol is extremely strong regardless of which attachments have been equipped.

This combination, increases hip-fire accuracy alongside an increase in aim down sight speed, enabling you to quickly react to an enemy when switching to a pistol is the best option.

  • Frag

It is extremely hard to evade a perfectly cooked frag grenade and there’s very few things more satisfying than scoring a kill after lobbing a grenade halfway across the map!

  • Stun Grenade

When thrown at an opponent, stun grenades slow and disorient them which makes them easy pickings for the FFAR 1.

Field Upgrade

  • SAM Turret

The SAM Turret automatically targets and fires missiles at any enemy scorestreaks in the air.

With this loadout lacking the ability to deal with any scorestreaks, the SAM Turret helps clear the skies and is a solid way of earning some additional score on top of playing the objective and scoring kills.

  • Flak Jacket
  • Scavenger
  • Ninja

By selecting these three Perks, it offers a solid balance when in amongst the action. Flak Jacket increases explosive resistance, Scavenger decreases the chance of completely running out of ammunition, and Ninja quietens footsteps when sprinting, allowing you to navigate the map and get behind enemy lines with ease.

  • Gunfighter

By selecting Gunfighter as the wildcard, you can equip a maximum of eight attachments onto the FFAR 1 to create a version to suit every single style of play.

Is The FFAR 1 Good In Black Ops Cold War?

This weapon is incredibly strong if you can control the high levels of recoil.

It's a really nice hybrid option due to its fast rate of fire, making it great up close and steady control, giving you the option to take ranged fighters.

Utilise its superiority at close and medium range and only take on fights at range if you're confident that you can win.
