Black Ops Cold War Glitch Leaves Players Re-Downloading Entire Game

Season 4 Reloaded for Black Ops Cold War has gone live across all platforms and as players get to grips with all of the new content that the mid-season update has bought to Multiplayer and Zombies, some players woke up to a much bigger download size than they originally anticipated.

For Xbox Series X players, the update was meant to be 9.2GB in size but for many, a prompt appeared instructing players to download Black Ops Cold War in its entirety, much to the frustration of those wanting to get their hands on the new OTs 9 submachine gun and the Mauer Der Toten Zombies map.

Black Ops Cold War Re-Download Xbox Glitch

Soon after the Season 4 Reloaded update began to roll out, Xbox users took to Reddit and Twitter to express their frustration surrounding a glitch where some had to download over 200GB, much to their annoyance. According to some players, this glitch happens every time Treyarch releases an update for Black Ops Cold War.

It's understandable to see the frustration, especially when the size of Black Ops Cold War continues to increase after every update. The last thing players want is to download the entire game over and over again. Thankfully, reports are stating that the glitch only seems to be affecting a handful of Series X users.

When Will It Be Fixed?

Although it appears to be an isolated issue, it's highly likely that Activision and Treyarch are aware of the issue and are working on a fix to prevent the lengthy download from appearing after the launch of an update. The fix could well feature in an upcoming hotfix that could arrive in the next few weeks.
