Destiny: Rising is shaping up to be the next big gacha game this year as it carries the mantle of Bungie’s acclaimed first-person shooter sci-fi series. Developed by NetEase, Destiny: Rising is loosely based on the established canon Bungie has created. It takes place in an alternate dimension, but it still carries the familiar essence of what makes Destiny, well, Destiny.
Keep in mind that while Destiny: Rising is free to play, it has gacha elements. That means there’s plenty of RNG and grinding involved if you aren’t patient. To be fair, Destiny 2 also has its fair share of RNG and grinding.
How Does The Gacha System Work In Destiny: Rising?

Destiny: Rising doesn’t follow the same formula as Destiny 2. Instead of choosing between Titans, Warlocks, and Hunters, the game gives each character a unique set of stats and abilities. No one is tied to the same three roles from the mainline entry.
Your character starts with default stats you can customize later, but the real core of Rising lies in “Summoning.” Summoning is how you call new playable heroes to your party through in-game banners. Sure, you can always stick with your Wolf, but if you want powerful Lightbearers for endgame activities, this is where you’ll spend most of your time, in-game currency, and sometimes real money.
To summon a character, Destiny: Rising uses a resource called “Lumina Leaves.” One summon costs 180 Lumina Leaves, while 10 summons cost 1,800.
You can earn Lumina Leaves through gameplay and event rewards, but as with most gacha games, the fastest way is to buy them with premium currency called Silver, which has a 1:1 conversion rate.
Is There a Pity System in Destiny: Rising?

Like other gacha titles such as Genshin Impact and Zenless Zone Zero, Destiny: Rising includes a pity system that helps reduce frustration by guaranteeing a character after a certain number of pulls.
Destiny: Rising runs on a 60-pull pity system, which guarantees you the featured hero in the banner once you hit the limit. The rates start low but steadily increase until you’re locked into a guaranteed drop:
- Pulls 1–29: Very low chance of landing the featured hero
- Pull 30+: Noticeable increase in odds
- Pull 50: Around a 60% chance to land the banner hero
- Pull 60: Guaranteed banner hero
The best part is that there’s no 50/50 mechanic. Once you reach pity, you don’t risk pulling a different hero. It will always be the banner hero. On top of that, extra copies aren’t wasted. Each duplicate powers up the hero further, unlocking new perks and enhancements.
Are there Weapon Pulls in Destiny: Rising?

There are no weapon pulls in Destiny: Rising. The gacha system is exclusively for playable characters. All weapons, including Exotics, are earned through gameplay and endgame challenges. Still, it wouldn’t be surprising if NetEase introduced weapon pulls in future updates.
And that’s the gist of it. Destiny: Rising’s gacha system is fairly straightforward and doesn’t require complicated math. You aren’t rolling for weapons since the arsenal is tied to gameplay. But if you want the strongest heroes, you’ll have to get comfortable with the gacha system and hope the Traveler answers your call.
