ARC Raiders’ Stella Montis Is Missing a True Night Event

ARC Raiders

It has been almost 2 months since ARC Raiders launched, and players are already enjoying a plethora of fresh content in this year’s best extraction shooter.

Just recently, Embark dropped ARC Raiders’ first-ever Winter event with the Cold Snap update, featuring a dangerous new weather event that can cause frostbite and force Raiders to stay indoors.

And speaking of indoors, Stella Montis, the game’s only indoor map, is in dire need of an upgrade. It could use an event that’s perfect for the hardcore PvP players: a total blackout.

For context, Stella Montis is a now-defunct facility teeming with humanity’s important treasury. There are rows upon rows of stored paintings meant to preserve art, as well as abandoned medical centers. It’s supposed to be a ghost town, but it is made bearable thanks to its reserve electrical power. Everyone can rummage through its empty hallways without worrying about limited vision.

While this all sounds good, it feels like there’s something more to be done with this indoor area. Ideally, it would make more sense if there were an event where an electrical storm causes power issues in the newly rebuilt facility.

Stella Montis has a Night Raid mode. Normally, players would expect that they are raiding the place in complete darkness, relying on flashlights and sneaking up on unsuspecting solo players. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. Night Raids in Stella Montis are pretty much the same, minus the small sunrays that pass through the skylights. It needs to add more tension to the Raiders; considering that this is endgame territory, it should be really dangerous.

Darkness already exists in Night Raid, but electricity is still running.

This new event could fundamentally alter Stella Montis' identity, offering a high-level endgame zone where anything can happen. Players with hoarded lightsticks can finally use them here, providing temporary light in the area. This is also where most of the bloodthirsty PvP Raiders congregate, and Embark should make things more interesting with an event that limits their entire vision, unless they risk exposing themselves with a flashlight.

Unfortunately, those who expect a chill session in a pitch-black Stella Montis won’t find any solace. Unless you’re with the chillest solo players ever (which happens rarely in Stella Montis), you can almost always loot with no problem. However, with zero light sources, devious Raiders might take advantage of the situation, making Stella Montis a corpse-disposal guy’s worst nightmare.

Zero power in Stella Montis sounds like a good idea, and I’d love to see it happen soon. However, some worry that there are PC players who exploit Gamma and Brightness settings, which creates an unfair advantage for those who play on consoles without modding capabilities. Embark would need to avoid players who use these exploits and punish them accordingly.

The ball is in Embark’s court here. A map like Stella Montis deserves a kind of unique gimmick. Night Raid doesn’t seem to add anything of value apart from increased loot and Arc activity, but everything else is barely meaningful.

Here’s hoping Embark provides a 2026 Roadmap once the new year arrives!
