ARC Raiders’ next major update, Cold Snap, is arriving very soon, and it will feature a plethora of new content, including weather effects and a new battle pass. Here’s everything you need to know about the major update.
ARC Raiders Cold Snap Release Date
The Cold Snap update will launch this Tuesday, December 16. If you’re one of those players who play Monster Hunter Wilds, both the Cold Snap and Gogmazios update drops on the same day.
New Weather Conditions in the Cold Snap Update
To fit the winter season, ARC Raiders will introduce a new map condition called Snowfall. We don’t know much about it yet, but it’s assumed that all the major maps, including Dam Battlegrounds, Spaceport, and Buried City, will all be covered in a thick blanket of snow that can possibly slow down raiders or cause frostbite. Thick snow means you can track other raiders with their obvious snow trail, and PvP might be at an all-time high.
Stella Montis is largely unaffected, since it’s inside a massive building. However, areas under open roofs might be covered in snow.
New Events Coming in the Cold Snap Update
A new event called the ‘Flickering Flames’ is coming to the Cold Snap update. Similar to Stella Montis ‘Breaking New Ground’ event, it could be a community event where anyone can pitch in and do the work, or it could be a player-focused journey.
No one knows what this event entails, but it could be a teaser to the game’s upcoming batch of content set to arrive next year. Who knows? Maybe a powerful Arc is coming our way.
Prestige Resets via Expeditions
As the Cold Snap season arrives, players who are already prepared to go on an Expedition can now claim their prestige status and reset their characters. This will grant a permanent bonus to skill points and inventory stashes for the players who opt for a reset.
New Battle Pass or Raider Decks in the Cold Snap Update
ARC Raiders’ Cold Snap update also includes a new deck featuring a fresh band of cosmetics and other rewards.
Similar to the Raider Deck we currently have, it will likely include decorations, new backpack designs, outfits, and Raider Tokens for in-game purchases.
New Quests Coming to the Cold Snap Update
If you have plowed through all your quests from the Traders in Speranza, there are new quests coming in the Cold Snap update. These are likely centered around the new Snowfall Map Condition or the Flickering Flames event.
