Apex Legends Season 10 is finally here, and with that inevitably comes a new Legend. Early leaks and datamines suggested that the next character to join the Apex Games would be Pariah, but as we draw closer to the new season, but Respawn has confirmed that Apex Legends’ Seer will be the new Legend - and he's live now!

Who is this mysterious addition to Apex Legends, Seer? What are his abilities? Will they be a good pick if you’re tackling the Apex Legends ranked ladder? We’ll try to answer as many questions as we can in this guide, as well as show you any leaks and data mines that have been revealed.

We now know that Seer's real name is Obi and that he was cursed from the moment he was born. But what does this curse mean, and how will it affect his abilities in the Apex Games?

As an aside, Pariah was previously mentioned as the potential Season 10 legend. However, it has now become apparent that Pariah was actually a code name for Seer.

Here’s everything we know about Apex Legends’ Seer:

Apex Legends Seer Nerf

It's safe to say Respawn missed the mark with Seer's launch, and he was far too strong. His passive alone was better than some Legends' entire kits. Luckily, Apex is a live service game, and his kit has been tweaked. For the full list of changes (and there's a lot), check out the Apex Legends patch notes, but we've got a quick rundown here:

  • Reduced the range and effectiveness of Seer's passive ability
  • Seer's tactical no longer does damage or flashbangs opponents
  • Ultimate cooldown increased by a third

Is Seer more balanced now? It's better, for sure, but is it enough?

Apex Legends Seer Abilities

We know plenty about Seer already but more than anything, we're interested in his abilities. Luckily Respawn decided to give us a taste of what's to come with the Emergence launch trailer, take a look.

  • Passive: Heart Seeker - Hear and visualize enemies within 75m when aiming down sights
  • Tactical: Focus of Attention - Summon micro-drones to emit a delayed blast that goes through walls interrupting and revealing enemies
  • Ultimate: Exhibit - Create a sphere of micro-drones that reveal the location of enemies moving quickly or firing their weapons within

Seer already looks really strong, so we hope there's some balance provided. You can find a full breakdown of his abilities in this trailer:

June 20 - Respawn lead writer shares information

Amanda Doiron, a lead writer at Respawn, shed some light on Seer's background. She posits that The Moth and the Flame is an old folktale, and just happens to mirror Seer's experiences. She also says that Seer isn't definitely cursed, he could just be unlucky in the fact that a meteor hit his planet's moon as he was being born. That would be rotten luck.

She also confirms that the character is Igbo. The Igbo people are native to southern and southeastern Nigeria, but large populations are also living in Cameroon, Gabon, and Equatorial Guinea. This makes Seer the first Black African male character in Apex Legends.

Apex Legends Seer Stories From the Outlands

The latest Stories from the Outlands lore trailer confirms that Seer will be the Legend appearing in Apex Legends Season 10: Emergence. From the looks of things, he will be a moth-based character with an interesting "drone" that has been appearing in the Season 10 teasers around Olympus and World's Edge.

For the full story of Seer's curse, watch the Stories from the Outlands video below.

Seer is described as "a cursed Legend whose glance can turn a mountain to dust, a king to a beggar and an ocean to a desert." That seems a little broken in-game, so we imagine the abilities will be toned down a little.

Apex Legends Seer Teasers

There is also a teaser live on Olympus, which may give credence to the rumours that Seer is a moth-based Legend (as if the lore drops weren't clear enough). It looks like this could be one of Seer's 'Moth Drones' around the Rift area of the map. Check out our Apex Legends Season 10 teasers guide for a full list of locations where you can find the drones and claim your exclusive weapon charm.

One moth-based teaser was spotted by an eagle-eyed viewer in the Season 9 teaser. Many people believe this could be Seer’s “logo” or graffiti tag, similar to Rampart’s “R” which appeared before her release.

We’re still waiting for more Seer teasers to drop, and will update this page as soon as we know more.

Apex Legends Seer Leaks

There have been plenty of Seer leaks doing the rounds, courtesy of data miners. First of all, we have the audio files that we mentioned earlier. Thanks to HumanSAS for these:

Dataminer Garret also found some Seer-related files in the game. Garret found a legendary skin named “Afrofuturism” which is a literary genre – not to be confused with Africanfuturism – which involves the intersection of science fiction with the African diaspora.

That’s everything we know about the next character in Apex Legends, Seer. We’ll keep this guide up to date with any more information about him as we learn it.

Player Reactions and Artwork

Plenty in the community have taken to social media to share their opinions on the newest legend, as well as some beautiful artwork, let's take a look!

Respawn is constantly working hard to bring more representation and inclusivity to Apex Legends, other developers take note. It's a wonderful thing to see.

Many believe that with Seer coming to Apex, Crypto will become even less popular than he already is but this artwork by tbgkaru makes us think they're the perfect pair.

Even Erika Ishii, the voice of most recent legend, Valk, chimed in on Twitter. It's great to see she's just as in love as we are.

That's everything we know about Seer so far.
