Animal Crossing New Horizons - how to find and meet Resetti

The Version 2.0 update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons has given players a dozen new things to do on their islands. The game has new materials, activities and hosts the return of classic characters from prior games in the series. One of these characters is the infamous Animal Crossing villain, known as Mr. Resetti the mole.

In this guide, we explain who Resetti is and how you can speak to him in New Horizons.

Who is Resetti?

Resetti, also previously known as Mr. Resetti during his previous role in the Animal Crossing games, has been familiar to fans as a mole with some serious anger issues. This is especially when it comes to players not saving their games. In New Horizons' predecessors, Mr. Resetti would appear outside your home if you failed to save your game with a lecture.

With each and every visit, he would become angrier and all the more threatening towards you. So much so, that some fans would be genuinely scared of Mr. Resetti as children. However, players will be pleased to know that the Resetti you encounter in New Horizons is a changed mole.

How to find and speak with Resetti with Animal Crossing New Horizons

First and foremost, you need to make sure you have unlocked The Roost café by speaking with Blathers and finding Brewster. Once the café has been built in the museum, you're able to call various villagers and special characters — using Amiibo — to come and enjoy a coffee with you. Rather surprisingly, one of these characters is none other than old Mr. Resetti himself, now going by just Resetti. You'll be even more surprised to witness his much calmer temperament in New Horizons, too.

If you don't have Amiibo to use, do not worry! This encounter with Resetti can just happen by chance too. If you're a regular visitor to The Roost, you'll notice that different characters will take a break there, one of them sometimes being Resetti. By being a regular customer, too, you may even find that Brewster will gift you DIY Recipes following your visit; all the more reason to keep checking in at The Roost!

Resetti has multiple lines of dialogue in New Horizons, some of which refer to his love of Brewster's coffee, and others refer back to his days of being a ruthlessly angry mole terrorising players for not saving their game. Either way, it is certainly pleasant to see these references to the previous Resetti that players once feared, and it is great to see that he is much more docile now. Although, he'll certainly bring out his menacing face from time to time, so be sure to speak with him repeatedly to experience everything he has to say.
