The Nook Phone has many apps that aid you with navigating and customising your island, including a handy list of friends, a book of all your DIY Recipes, and a way to call fellow residents on your island. A new app, called Island Life 101, has been introduced in the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Version 2.0 update.

The Island Life 101 Service does exactly what you'd expect, providing you with useful 101 tips and hints for improving your island life. The app itself is perfect for people who are new to the game, or to the series on the whole. However, the app does also provide useful tips and reminders for Animal Crossing veterans from time to time, too.

How to Use the Island Life 101 Service

The Island Life 101 Service can be purchased from the Nook Stop Terminal in the Resident Services building for 400 Nook Miles. Once bought, the app will be immediately installed on your Nook Phone. Over time, the app itself will slowly be built up with various tips from both Tom Nook and Isabelle (as shown above). These tips will appear during loading screens as you exit and enter buildings, and will then get stored in the app for if you ever need a refresher.

If you need to access the Island Life 101 app, simply open your Nook Phone and navigate to the second page. It will be the final icon that is purple, and will display a list of messages that take the form of tips, which you can freely scroll through. For veterans of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, these tips act as handy inspiration for when you don't know what to do next on your island.
