To unlock the Storage Shed, you will first need to make sure that you have fully upgraded your home and paid off all of your loans to Tom Nook. This task requires a lot of bells, so check out how to go about earning more Animal Crossing currency here. Once your home upgrades have been completed, you will then need to spend even more bells upgrading your home storage to 2,400 items.

After both upgrade tasks have been completed, you will receive a letter in your mailbox the following day informing you that the Storage Shed and Storage Shed DIY Recipe are available for purchase. These will be available from the Nook Stop Terminal in the Resident Services building for 6000 Nook Miles, so you might want to get saving!

Once you have purchased the Storage Shed, it'll arrive in your mailbox the next day. You can place it anywhere around your island as you would with any other piece of furniture, and press A in front of it to interact with it. Then, you can place things into your storage or take things out of it!
