You'll need to use a chopping tool to cut the Dry Grass down. We recommend the Pebblet Axe at this point in the game. Just pick up a Pebble and take it to a research station. there's one where you started. Analyse it using the machine there and you will get the recipe for the Pebblet Axe. You'll need the following to craft it:

  • Sprig x3
  • Pebblet x2
  • Crude Rope x1 (analyse plant fibres to get this recipe)

Equip the axe and find some dry grass. you can then swing it and chop it down. As it hits the ground it will break into Dry Grass Chunks.
