Following a successful closed beta, there's plenty of early gameplay revealing more about XDefiant and how it compares to other shooters such as Call of Duty.
XDefiant roadmap
When the XDefiant release date rolls around, it's safe to say there will be plenty of content for players to experience. At launch, there are 24 weapons to choose from along with 14 maps, five game modes, and five factions containing various characters with abilities capable of turning the tide of a match in your favour.
In the weeks after, Ubisoft will launch its roadmap for the year which contains "meta-changing" factions, 12 new weapons, and another 12 maps.
Is XDefiant better than Call of Duty?
It's unclear if XDefiant can topple the hugely successful Call of Duty franchise but it's clear that the game is the greatest challenger in the arena shooter genre.
We'll have to wait and see if it can compete with Warzone and Modern Warfare 3 but for now, it looks like a great alternative for players who want another fast-paced arcade shooter in their library.
