Xbox Series X Is Getting A 4K Dashboard Update


Microsoft's announced that Xbox Series X is getting a resolution boost, pushing the user interface closer to a 4K display. Available for Xbox Insider members now, this hasn't yet rolled out to the public, though they normally appear a few weeks after previews.

Speaking within an official blog, Microsoft offered this outline:

With today’s update, Alpha Skip-Ahead Insiders on Xbox Series X consoles connected to a 4K display can begin flighting an increased resolution UI. This change means Home, Guide, and other areas of the UI will be displayed in a higher native resolution for increased sharpness and text readability.

As part of this update, they've also implemented a new system fix regarding local languages, advising "Various updates to properly reflect local languages across the console. They've also listed several known issues regarding previous Insider updates that engineers are still fixing, which you can find below.

That's not the only upcoming update we can expect, either. Last week, a "night mode" option was also being previewed by Xbox Insider members, letting players dim their screens, controllers and power button when they'd like. Once these updates release, we'll keep you informed.
