WoW Shadowlands How To Craft And Upgrade Legendary Items

One of the major features of the recent World of Warcraft expansion Shadowlands was the re-introduction of Legendary Items.

Players can craft powerful items that will increase their classes' abilities granting them extra strength as they venture through the land of the dead.

Once you have found your legendary power, you are ready to create the equipable item.

WoW Shadowlands How To Craft and Upgrade Legendary Items

The difference in the Shadowlands is that legendary items are crafted by the character themselves.

Professions are used to craft a base item that will be infused with the power later on. So Leatherworkers will create leather and mail base items, Blacksmiths will craft plate items, Tailoring crafts cloth, and Jewelcrafters craft rings and a neck.

Only certain powers can be crafted onto certain gear slots so be sure to check before you craft or purchase an item.

There are currently 4 ranks of gear levels and if you are wanting to craft your own base item, you need to upgrade the craft to the desired rank which can take some time and resources.

If you are just after the highest piece possible and don't care to make it yourself, you can just buy it from the auction house.

Now for the final pieces, you need. Missives are used in the craft and 2 can be used to determine what stats are on the piece of gear. Missive of " secondary stat name" can be crafted by players with the Inscription profession.

Lastly, you will need a currency found inside Torghast, Tower of the Damned. Upon weekly completion of each available wing, you will receive Soul Ash, which will be used to combine everything together.

The required Soul Ash for each item-level is:

Rank 1 (iLvl 190): 1250 Soul Ash
Rank 2 (iLvL 210): 2000 Soul Ash
Rank 3 (iLvL 225): 3200 Soul Ash
Rank 4 (iLvL 235): 5150 Soul Ash

Bring all these items together to the Runecarver and select I'd like to craft a legendary item. Fill in all the empty slots and hit create. Your new legendary item will be ready to equip.

If you didn't craft the highest rank straight away you can return to the Runecrafter later. All you need this time to upgrade is the base item at a higher item level and extra soul ash:

• Rank 1 to 2: 750 Soul Ash
• Rank 2 to 3: 1200 Soul Ash
• Rank 3 to 4: 1950 Soul Ash

Congratulations now you have crafted your own powerful legendary!
