October 2021 - Riot Games recently revealed in a blog post that the next Agent 17 will be a Sentinel. This means that Deadeye, aka Vincent Fabron, is scheduled to arrive in VALORANT Episode 3 Act 3.
This not only delays Agent 18's release but also confirms that Sprinter won't be a Sentinel. As of now, there is very little to go on Sprinter's existence in the VALORANT Universe.
VALORANT Agent 18 Release Date
VALORANT Episode 3 Act 2 introduced a new map called Fracture. At the same time, fans got to see multiple image teasers of the new Agent 17, codenamed Deadeye.
Thus, VALORANT Agent 18, codenamed Sprinter, will not arrive in-game anytime before Episode 4. There are numerous community theories and leaks that suggest the nature and abilities of this Agent. While all of them may not be credible, we will highlight the plausible theories that match the current agent pool.
VALORANT Agent 18 Sprinter Abilities
All the previous VALORANT Agents had codenames that reflected their abilities in-game. The codename Sprinter sounds like the first Agent with supernatural speed. Perhaps, the next Agent is a Radiant, who has speedster-like abilities similar to Overwatch’s Soldier: 76.
Similarly, others have suggested that Sprinter will be a counter version of Jett. Fans are wondering what that might look like, so we have prepared an ability list based on the theories online.
- Smoke – Smoke to obscure vision, Similar to Jett's smoke, however, they will last longer.
- Stampede – Acts like a grenade, similar to Phoenix' Hot Hands, damaging all opponents within its radius.
- Signature Ability: Velocity Streak – Move from point A to B within seconds while remaining invulnerable. Similar to Reyna's dismiss, but it covers a shorter distance.
- Ultimate: Hyperspeed – Use your map to target a location, launching a devastating orbital strike that pulses for high damage over several seconds.
Keep in mind that these are not real abilities and are just theories at this point. We will update this section once the real abilities are revealed.
