Skull & Bones Will Enter Beta Phase "Soon", Claims Insider

Ubisoft's Skull & Bones was first announced at E3 2017, but we've had minimal information ever since. With rumours of a deeply troubled development, progress finally seems to be on the horizon, according to one known insider.

As per The Gamer, this news comes from Tom Henderson, who's previously reported accurate information for Call of Duty and Battlefield. Speaking on Twitter, he advised Skull & Bones "is entering its internal beta "soon" with a Q1 2022 target, believing it could appear at E3 2022.

Skull & Bones Will Enter Beta Phase "Soon", Claims Insider

Since that initial announcement, we've not heard much officially from Ubisoft. Repeatedly pushed back into the next financial year, it's currently targeting a release between April 2022-March 2023. Last July, rumours emerged that the game entered its Alpha phase, leading to some leaks detailing an open-world and player progression system.

Skull & Bones is spearheaded by Ubisoft Singapore in collaboration with Ubisoft Berlin, currently scheduled to launch on PS4, Xbox One, and PC platforms. No plans for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S have been confirmed, though given Ubisoft's previous multiplatform efforts, we wouldn't be surprised.
