When Does Arena Mode Shut Down in Sea of Thieves?


Sea of Thieves released in 2018 and since then, Rare continues updating it with provided new content. While Season 5's in full swing, Season 6 is on the way and that's bringing further changes.

Sadly, these plans include shutting down the Arena mode, detailed in news that surfaced yesterday. Shutting down later this year, Rare confirmed that only 2% of players’ time is being spent in Arena "on a consistent basis," so they're looking to removed it. When Does Arena Mode Shut Down in Sea of Thieves?

Rare will shut down Sea of Thieves' Arena mode on March 10, 2022. We don't have an exact time for when it'll be implemented, though we'll keep you posted if there's further announcements.

Players who reached at Sea Dogs rank 5 in the Arena mode will receive exclusive Arena ship cosmetics, which they can use in Adventure mode. These are:

  • The Azure Scout
  • The Flaming Jackal
  • The Golden Chaser
  • The Lucky Rover
  • The Regal Hound

The cutoff point for those eligible to claim these rewards, according to Rare, was January 27, 2022 at 6pm GMT. These prizes will be sent once the Arena mode closes. Make sure to follow us for more gaming news and updates as it happens.
