Even though the project was teased last month during the 2021 Summer Game Fest, more details about the Director's Cut to 2019's Death Stranding have been revealed.

During PlayStation's most recent State of Play, a release date has been confirmed for the PS5 release as well as, new missions, upgraded visual improvements, and racing?

Death Stranding Director's Cut Release Date and Gameplay Details Revealed

As present in the pre-order trailer, the Director's Cut will be stacked full of additional gameplay improvements and brand-new features.

Melee has been upgraded, while mounted guns and unfamiliar weapons such as the Maser Gun will be available. You will also be able to test your shooting through firing ranges.

Expanding on the original game's unique multiplayer attributes, delivery support has been enhanced.

Original aspects have been expanded with cargo catapults, skeleton support during transit, and buddy bots to help to carry cargo. While a jump ramp has been added, so you can be the ultimate FedEx delivery person you've always dreamt of.

And if that wasn't enough Kojima-ness for you, a racing track has been added. The Fragile Circuit will allow Sam to trial various tracks and even test your speed in timed races.

While never-before-played story missions will be made available in the definitive version.

Death Stranding Director's Cut will be available to PS5 users on September 24, 2021. Kojima Productions has confirmed that those with the original PS4 game, digital or physical, can upgrade to the Director's Cut Digital Deluxe Edition for $10/£10/€10.
