The Pokémon Company Just Posted Record Profits


It's a good time to be a Pokémon fan right now. After Nintendo recently confirmed release dates for both Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, alongside Pokemon Legends: Arceus, that's unlikely to let up anytime soon, as The Pokémon Company's just revealed record profits.

Despite being a private company, The Pokémon Company's released a full breakdown of their finances, despite having no legal obligation to do so. For the 2020 fiscal year, they achieved a record-breaking net profit of 18.6 billion yen (roughly £119/$170 million) last year, making for a 21.2 percent increase over 2019.

The Pokémon Company Just Posted Record Profits

As for overall sales, The Pokémon Company reached 120 billion yen, while operating profit hit 27.8 billion yen. It follows a strong sales trend for Nintendo , who've just confirmed the Switch has seen 20 million sales in Japan alone, having previously reached 84.59 million sales last month.

Elsewhere in the Pokémon world, we've seen rumours of a "Pokemon Presents" presentation arriving before E3, alongside "leaks" of a potential visual upgrade for Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Hopefully, we won't be waiting long to find out more,
