Pokemon hype is at an all-time high once again, thanks to the announcements of Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, along with the shocking reveal of Pokemon Legends: Arceus, which will give us an open-world Pokemon game set in the past.
These are big announcements that many Pokemon fans have been waiting for, particularly Pokemon Legends: Arceus, since it looks like this title is really going to change things up for this beloved franchise.

How Many Pokemon Are There in 2021?
As we wait for more news on the 4th Gen remakes and Pokemon Legends: Arceus, fans have begun wondering what the total number of Pokemon is.
Unless Pokemon Legends: Arceus is planning to introduce any new Pokemon, there are currently 932 in total for those that want to catch ‘em all.
Obviously, this is a huge endeavour for those that have been playing Pokemon since the early days when there were only 151 of them.
It also doesn’t help that some games didn’t allow complete transfers of older Pokemon, like the recent Sword and Shield releases for Switch.
Since Pokemon Legends: Arceus looks to be a prequel game that will be reusing the 932 Pokemon we all know in a newer game engine, we're not expecting new faces.
