Scarlet and Pokémon Violet are the next games in the Pokémon Series, and will release on November 18. The trailers have shown us key parts of what we can expect from the games. Several beautiful environments were teased, including a bustling town center, and rain-soaked fields inhabited by Psyducks. A lot of different Pokémon were in the trailer, Meowth, Lucario, and Swablu to name just a few. However, we're going to be focusing on an important trio that will be crucial to your adventure.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Starter guide
Here's everything we know about the three starter Pokémon from the official Scarlet and Violet website. At the moment, nothing else has been revealed about how you meet them or their evolutions.
- Type: Grass
- Category: Grass Cat Pokémon
- Ability: Overgrow
Sprigatito is a Grass Cat Pokémon who is described as being unpredictable and attention-seeking. It certainly seems that Sprigatito will keep you on your toes but, they can be loyal if you show them the proper amount of attention.
- Type: Fire
- Category: Fire Croc Pokémon
- Ability: Blaze
Fuecoco, the fire croc Pokémon, is a laid-back croc that lives life at its own pace. This means that Fuecoco could be a great partner for a relaxed trainer. However, do not be fooled as the croc is a fire-type Pokémon, meaning that its attacks can be powerful when you need them to be.
- Type: Water
- Category: Duckling Pokémon
- Ability: Torrent
Quaxly is a duckling Pokémon who is described as being earnest and tidy. This may mean that Quaxly's attacks are precise, even without being evolved, as it sounds like it doesn't enjoy mess or disorganisation. This little determined Pokémon seems like it will be a great partner for any trainer, as its conviction could power its loyalty. It looks like Quaxly will not let you down!
Will We Get More Than One Starter?
Something interesting came out of the new trailer for Scarlet and Violet. We see the three new starters with some cute closeups, and then cut to Nemona, the series' new rival. She then asks if you are 'these three's trainer?'. Now, this could just be added for the trailer, but could it also mean we start the game with all three starter Pokémon? For now, only time will tell.
