Galarian Slowking has finally arrived in Pokémon GO. Though Galarian Slowpoke and Galarian Slowbro launched a while back, the ditzy giant otter's other evolution did not. Halloween, for whatever reason, looks to be the remedy for that omission, and we think Hoopa's rings have something to do with it. Here's what we know about how to obtain Galarian Slowking, when you'll be able to get one, and how it might perform in raids and PVP leagues.

Before we dive into what might be coming to Pokémon GO, why not read up on what's currently going on? If you had a good result during the Duskull October Community Day event, it's time to start building your Dusknoir for raids and PVP. With that sorted, get out on the hunt for Jessie and James. They're back, and we're speculating that Giovanni will turn up again soon as well.

How Do I Get Galarian Slowking in Pokémon GO?

All you have to do to get Galarian Slowking is evolve your Galarian Slowpoke. It isn't as simple as tossing candy at it, however. Like Galarian Slowbro, there's another step you need to complete before the evolve button will line up.

To evolve Galarian Slowpoke into Galarian Slowking, you need to set it as your Buddy and catch 30 Psychic-type Pokémon. After that, you should be able to use your Slowpoke candy to evolve it.

Either way, it's not an easy target to hit. But in headlining the 2021 Halloween event, Psychic-type Pokémon like Drowzee will appear more often and in Field Research Task encounters until October 22. This should really help you through the challenge.

What Are The Best Moves for Galarian Slowking?

  • Confusion
  • Psychic

In terms of usefulness, Galarian Slowking is expected to be a lot like Galarian Slowbro. Despite their typing, both evolutions and their Kantonian alternatives are typically running with a Confusion/Psychic moveset.

That said, we won't know for certain if this is the best moveset until after release later this week, so stay tuned for updates.
