Call of Duty: Mobile is finally making its native PC debut after years of being playable via unstable emulators. With the game’s PC release, fans will be treated to new controls, overhauled visuals and more.
While Call of Duty: Mobile is set to be replaced by the battle royale focused Warzone Mobile later this year, the frenetic free-to-play CoD game is a brilliant addition to the series.
Via CodMIntel, the CoD Mobile PC release is finally in development, finally allowing the game to be played natively on PC. Alongside the game’s native port, improved graphical effects will be added to the game.
“Call of Duty: Mobile’s dedicated PC version development is in the works,” the account revealed. “It will feature better graphical and lighting effects.”
Released in 2019, Call of Duty: Mobile has become one of the most content packed games in the long running FPS franchise, even more than Modern Warfare 3. On release, the game received the biggest launch in mobile game history, generating $480 million in just one year.
CoD Mobile has continued to be regularly updated with new content ever since, bringing in new maps, modes and — of course — paid cosmetics. With Season One Soldier’s Tale coming out now, even more content is available for players to enjoy.
While a lot of western fans have scoffed at the idea of bringing Call of Duty: Mobile to PC, the game’s popularity in regions such as China makes a PC version of the FPS a very good idea. In fact, running the game on PC via emulators such as BlueStacks is a popular way of playing the game in Eastern regions.
With a PC version of the game heading over to Steam, we could easily see Call of Duty: Mobile come to other platforms. For example, with the mainstream CoD games too intensive for the Nintendo Switch, the game could launch on Nintendo’s underpowered handheld.
