Call of Duty Warzone: PC FOV Setting Reduces Visual Recoil On Specific Weapons

The Haunting of Verdansk event on Call of Duty: Warzone is in full swing.

While players battle through Verdansk under the cover of darkness while fending off the undead, the Season 6 metagame continues to evolve as the end of the season approaches.

As with every Warzone season, players can get their hands on some brand-new weaponry to use in the battle royale in order to climb aboard the victory helicopter at the end of the match.

While players get to grips with the new additions to the weapon arsenal, it appears that there are some in-game settings that can be changed in order to score more kills during a game.

In his October 25th upload, popular Warzone YouTuber Swagg claimed that enabling the “Affected FOV” setting in the Warzone options gave the CR-56 AMAX assault rifle little to no recoil.

The rifle has featured in previous Call of Duty titles as the Galil and since its release onto Warzone, it has been a popular weapon of choice among players and content creators.

In the video, Swagg claims that “Affected FOV on PC makes guns feel like they don’t have recoil.” This setting sounds like it offers a sizable advantage when taking on an opponent at long-range.

Does Affected FOV really influence recoil?

When Affected FOV is enabled, it does appear that the weapon moves less in comparison to the very same weapon when used on a console.

Despite appearing to move less when firing, it’s hard to tell whether this setting has a major impact on weapon performance.

While several players are utilising this particular setting to their advantage, Warzone developer Infinity Ward has yet to comment on the subject.

It looks like this FOV feature was intended to be in the game, but with it offering such an advantage, could it be patched in a future update? We will have to wait and see.
