Metroid Dread: Stuck at the Start of Cataris? Here's How to Progress

Metroid Dread: Stuck in Cataris Starting Room

When you first arrive in Cataris you will have taken the elevator from Artaria. You'll be in a purple room, with an exit to your right. Heading this way requires the Varia Suit, you can learn more in this guide. You won't have this yet, so where do you need to go?

As you can see in the screenshot above, the elevator area is highlighted in purple. Head as far left as you can go in this room, and then shoot the wall there. It's made of hidden blocks which will clear the path ahead. You'll be able to progress to the left, looping around before heading back to Artaria. This is the right way to go, even if it seems a little bit random at first. Your goal is to obtain a new upgrade that allows you to access the red areas of Cataris.
