Melty Blood Type Lumina: Developers Add Fate Series Saber To Initial Roster

Type Moon Games has confirmed in their recent official livestream that the Fate series' main heroine, Saber, will be playable in Melty Blood: Type Lumina. This character is popular from her main game and is related to Melty Blood by its authors. Here's what we know about this character.

Melty Blood Type Lumina Saber Confirmed

As seen on the Type Moon Times Vol. 6 livestream, the show's hosts revealed another character trailer as the show closes. That last trailer showcased Saber from the Fate series, which is another one of Type Moon's creations. Across the Fate series, Saber is often a central or main character of any games she's appears in.

The trailer also notes that her inclusion in the Melty Blood events is also unsure. Saber doesn't know how or why she has been summoned to fight in this game. Nevertheless, players will definitely enjoy her inclusion in this game.

Who Is This Character?

In the world of Fate, Saber is actually named Artoria Pendragon and is a female version of the Arthurian legends central figure, King Arthur. In battle, she wields Excalibur to fight which can mostly be seen as an invisible sword. In her original series, Artoria is said to render her sword invisible with magic, preventing foes from immediately recognizing Excalibur and her in the process.

Most of Type Moon's Fate series - such as Fate Stay Night and Fate Grand Order - often include Saber's appearances. Before Fate Grand Order's worldwide popularity, Saber was the first main heroine of the Fate series within the Fate Stay Night series.

Outside the stories of Tsukihime and Fate, both series were penned by Kinoko Nasu, a key figure inside Type Moon. Meanwhile, Fate Grand Order's developers, DELiGHTWORKS Inc., has published this game on all of its platforms.

Last Character In Initial Roster

So far, Saber could be the last character added to the initial roster, being confirmed only a day before the game's release. Some consoles, such as Xbox One, can already play Melty Blood: Type Lumina on their platform. Meanwhile, the Western release and the Steam release will be the last platforms to receive it. Players will have to wait for a little more to start playing as Saber and the rest of the Melty Blood Type Lumina cast in this fighting game.
