During Gamescom's opening night, Sledgehammer Games confirmed Call of Duty Next 2023 will take place on October 5, 2023.

What to expect at Call of Duty Next 2023

The second edition of the Call of Duty Next event is celebrating all things Call of Duty. Whether you're a fan of Warzone or prefer some on-the-go action on mobile, there's something for everyone. Here's a closer look at what to expect when Call of Duty Next 2023 takes place later this year.

Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer

Call of Duty Next 2023 will feature information on Modern Warfare 3's multiplayer offering. So far, we know there are various mechanical changes to increase the pace of play in addition to the map list which consists of all 16 launch maps from 2009's Modern Warfare 2.

Expect to hear more about the new movement changes and intel on the rumoured changes to the Perks system to appear.

Warzone

During the Modern Warfare 2 cycle, Warzone 2 switched back to Warzone. Typically, the launch of a new annual release means the integration of new weaponry and the arrival of a brand-new map.

So far, rumours point towards the launch of the Las Almas map and we assume Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software will reveal plenty more at Call of Duty Next 2023.

Warzone Mobile

Throughout 2023, Activision has slowly rolled out the mobile version of Warzone in a number of regions across the world. We already know that the game will feature cross-progression with Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone and we're bound to find out more.

Additionally, we should get our first look at Verdansk on iOS and Android devices along with a worldwide release date.
