Horizon Forbidden West is an open-world action role-playing game from Guerilla Games. It's the highly-anticipated sequel to 2017's Horizon Zero Dawn. The flame-haired protagonist Aloy returns in this game to try to save her world again. This time, a red blight is rapidly spreading across the land and she must venture into the Forbidden West to find a way to stop it.

Along the way, she'll meet new enemies, new allies, and uncover more secrets hidden within the mysterious West. The map itself was inspired by the 905 miles between Utah and San Francisco, meaning that there is a lot of ground for Aloy to cover in her quest. Within the map, there are multiple ruins, Hunting Grounds, Cauldrons, and other Errands for her to discover. However, what's left for you to do when you complete the main game?

In this guide, we're going to answer an important question, is there a New Game Plus option for Horizon Forbidden West?

Is There a New Game Plus?

At the moment, there is not a New Game Plus option for the game. In its predecessor, Horizon Zero Dawn, you could access a New Game Plus mode after completing the story once. After completion, you could start the game again but the mode would let you take all of your gear and character unlocks (such as skills) with you. Unfortunately, for now, it looks like there isn't an option to do this in Forbidden West. You can head back into your game after you complete the main story but you cannot start it again with the gear you've acquired.

Horizon Forbidden West is available now for PS4 and PS5 consoles. If you're unsure if this is the game for you, check out the official Story Trailer below.

We will update this page if New Game Plus makes an appearance.
