Thanks to a useful post from Reddit user SyncingShiip, unlocking guns early in Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 involves utilising the Local Multiplayer function to save a weapon blueprint that you can use in online matches.

Before we share the full walkthrough, it's worth noting that this method doesn't work for DMZ and only works on consoles meaning if you're on PC, you'll have to unlock the guns by completing the required challenge or purchasing the store bundle containing the weapon.

Without further ado, here's how to unlock guns early:

• Open Modern Warfare 2 and quickly cancel the loading process before connecting to the online servers.
• Select the option to 'Go Offline.'
• Scroll to 'Local Multiplayer' and select the weapons tab to create a loadout with any of the locked weapons.
• Save a custom mod for your created loadout and head back to the title screen.
• Go online in Warzone 2 or Modern Warfare 2, create a new loadout, and hold LT/L2 to 'Equip weapon and open Gunsmith.
• Exit the screen and you can use the locked weapons in multiplayer or battle royale.
