The Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 battle pass has undergone major changes in time for the launch of the new battle royale and the first season of post-launch content. Instead of a linear approach to unlocking new items, Infinity Ward introduces an all-new system in a bid to prevent the mundane task of working through each tier.

Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 battle pass explained

According to a recent Activision blog post, players have "more choices and more agency" when it comes to ranking up the battle pass. The days of working from tier 0 to tier 100 are long gone.

Instead, the battle pass is now split into 20 sectors with five items in each one. Players use unlock tokens to get their hands on an item of their choice. So, if you're after one of the new guns, you can choose to unlock it first before a fairly bland calling card.

Players also have the option to choose which sector they want to start in. Found a group of items that catch your eye? Select the sector and begin earning tokens.

Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 season 1 battle pass rewards

So far, Infinity Ward hasn't shared any information on the Season One battle pass rewards but we have an idea of what to expect when the season begins.

There are already two new guns joining the arsenal through the new system so expect the usual batch of calling cards, emblems, and weapon charms to customise your profile.

Alongside cosmetics, there's a high possibility of numerous weapon blueprints and Operator skins appearing in most of the sectors. Once we hear more about the rewards on offer, we'll update the guide with a closer look at what's available.

Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 battle pass price

The new battle pass should cost the same as the previous iterations. The standard battle pass should cost 1000 COD Points while the premium bundle will cost 2400 COD Points, the same price as an Operator bundle.
