The appearance of a Warzone 2 jailbreak has the potential to change the course of a match. Whether you're one of a handful of players battling it out in Al Mazrah, the redeployment of those waiting for teammates to buy them back means it's harder to become the last player standing.

As attention towards the launch of Season Two, a jailbreak may seem like it appears at random. In fact, there are set times for the event to occur over the course of a match which is similar to how other in-game events take place.

What is a Warzone 2 jailbreak?

A jailbreak is a randomised in-game event that takes place during a Warzone 2 match. As it's a random event, there's no guarantee one occurs in your game.

Before you quit to the main menu, make sure you continue spectating the rest of the squad as there's a chance you'll drop back into the action without the need to spend any cash at a nearby buy station.

When does a Warzone 2 jailbreak happen?

Typically, a Warzone 2 jailbreak takes place during the third or fourth circles. This is usually in the latter stages of the game so don't rage quit to the main menu if you're spectating your squadmates conquering Al Mazrah without you.

All downed players will return to the action, adding an extra layer of spice as the gas closes in.

How to spot a Warzone 2 jailbreak

There are no clear indicators or cues that point towards a jailbreak taking place during a Warzone 2 match. The first and only cue is a bright yellow banner that displays the following text:

  • "Jailbreak Imminent"
  • "Jailbreak Active. All Operators redeployed to the AO."

If you're waiting on a spectator screen, you'll be greeted with this message:

  • "Redeploying. All Operators redeployed to the AO."

There's only a limited window to redeploy so land near your squadmates, grab a gun, and get into the action.

That's everything you need to know about the Warzone 2 jailbreak. Although it only happens every other match, it's an event capable of transforming the endgame of a match.
