How to upgrade tools in Disney Dreamlight Valley
So, different tools are used in the game for different things. These include the Royal Pickaxe, Royal Shovel, and Royal Watering Can, and each tool can perform a different job.
Therefore, here is what you need to do to upgrade them.
How to upgrade Royal Pickaxe in Disney Dreamlight Valley
To upgrade the Royal Pickaxe to its full potential, you need to unlock both the Moana Realm and Frozen Realm. This is because there are multiple upgrades for the Royal Pickaxe tied to both Maui and Elsa.
Firstly, you need to look at the upgrades from Maui. But you need to bring Moana to your valley by completing her quest line first. After this, you can progress Maui’s friendship quests and complete the A Tale of Stone And Fire quest. Once you do both of these, you have unlocked the necessary upgrades from Maui.
Next up is Elsa, and you have to bring her to the valley and then move forward with her quests. The two main quests you need to wrap up for the Royal Pickaxe upgrades are Breaking the Ice and The Singing Ice. After these have been done, your Royal Pickaxe should be fully upgraded!
How to upgrade Royal Shovel in Disney Dreamlight Valley
Now you’ve got the Royal Pickaxe out of the way, you can take on the Royal Shovel. Again, this one has multiple upgrades to acquire so it's a similar task.
To get the Royal Shovel enhanced and turned into the Shovel Blade, you once again need to attract another Frozen character into your village. This time, Anna is the character you need, and you have to complete her early Icy Invitation quest to learn how to get the Shovel Blade.
However, this can only be done once you have unlocked her from the Frozen Realm Castle door, so keep that in mind.
For the next upgrade, you need to head to the lands of Lion King and utilise Scar. After you have completed a couple of his quests, you can open up the Breaking Bones quest which needs to be completed to secure the upgrade.
The third and final upgrade is again tied to Scar, and you need to reach friendship level 7 to reveal The Circle of Life quest. Complete this quest to get an even more enhanced shovel.
How to upgrade Royal Watering Can in Disney Dreamlight Valley
The Royal Watering Can can be upgraded twice, which is a shorter escapade compared to the previous two tools. This one is focused on Merlin too, so you don't need to go around and complete different worlds to get the job done.
For the first upgrade, you need to reach friendship level 8 and complete the Dark Experiment quest and then you’ll be good to go. For the second, you need to progress the friendship level to 10 and then finish Merlin’s Final Trial quest. This will bring the Watering Can to its full potential.
