Campaign early access for Modern Warfare 3 is now live and while there's plenty of discussion surrounding the campaign length, many are already grinding their way through the mission list. Danger Close follows a similar formula to other Call of Duty missions thanks to its explosive nature. You can even earn some trophies and achievements along the way.

Modern Warfare 3 Danger Close walkthrough

With Shadow Company, Farah, and Task Force 141 seemingly on the same page, the collective unit joins forces for another attempt at blocking Makarov's dastardly deeds. Like previous AC-130 missions, you get to operate the gun, providing valuable air support to the squadmates on the ground.

Clear the boneyard

As the gunner, you can see the entirety of the boneyard and all of the enemies that stand in the way of the friendlies on the ground. Blow up enemy SAM turrets and aeroplanes attempting to take off using the runway while the ground team explores the hangars for Makarov's stash of chemical weapons.

The first hanger doesn't contain any, leaving only one more option as to where they could be. The team find the weapons and attempts to neutralise them inside the second hangar.

While they're busy inside, numerous tanks, helicopters, and jets try and retake control of the hangar. Use all three guns to keep the ground team protected. Don't forget to pop flares if an enemy missile has locked onto the aircraft.

Once the airfield is clear, Shepherd reveals that Makarov is on the base and will look to retake the chemicals. A helicopter potentially containing the Konni Group leader suddenly emerges. Destroy it and level the second hangar to stop the chemicals.

A cutscene triggers and while Shepherd and Graves declare Makarov dead, Task Force 141 investigates the wreckage of the helicopter and there's no sign of him.
