Modern Warfare 2 museum map 2022: Layout, objectives, and more

The Museum map is one of several new battlegrounds making their way to Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer. Infinity Ward's sequel to 2019's Modern Warfare contains the usual dose of action-packed gameplay synonymous with the shooter franchise in addition to numerous innovations adding a breath of fresh air for many players.

Map design plays a pivotal role in determining the success of a new Call of Duty title and as Modern Warfare 2's launch nears, Activision is beginning to reveal more on the map pool. One map we know of is Museum, a map that heavily resembles one of the franchise's most popular maps.

Modern Warfare 2 Museum map layout

On September 13, 2022, the Call of Duty Twitter account slowly uncovered the layout of the map.

The layout displays a clear three-lane structure with buildings in the centre adding plenty of flanking potential. The small rooms within the buildings lend themselves to plenty of close-quarters action while the eastern side opens up for more long-distance duels.

Eagle-eyed players noticed the map shares several similarities with the Raid map from the Black Ops series. The areas at the north and south sides of the map certainly suggest Infinity Ward has taken inspiration from Treyarch.

Best Museum Modern Warfare 2 camping spots

As with every single Call of Duty map, there are bound to be certain areas that are perfect for catching unsuspecting opponents off-guard.

Based on the design of Museum, we can expect the corridors connecting the north and south ends of the map to act as perfect camping spots for players that prefer a slower style of play. Be sure to check those corners.

How many maps are in Modern Warfare 2 2022?

According to leaks, Modern Warfare 2 will contain a total of 16 maps designed for six-versus-six action. On top of that, a number of larger maps will feature in large-scale modes such as Ground War. So far, only two battle maps are known but as we head towards release, we expect to hear more intel from Infinity Ward.
