What is Modern Warfare 2 gunfight?
If you're unfamiliar with gunfight and how it works, the mode features two teams of two on small, symmetrical maps battling it out to win rounds. You begin a match with a random weapon and attachment combination, meaning you'll have to rely on teamwork and gun skill in order to gain the advantage.
You win a round by eliminating the opposition before the timer runs out or by capturing the objective usually located within the centre of the map. The first team to reach six rounds is the winner.
Modern Warfare 2 gunfight maps
So far, Infinity Ward hasn't shared much information surrounding the return of gunfight. We do know that the developer plans on creating a specific set of maps designed for 2v2 gameplay in mind.
There's a chance they could be new designs or small sections of maps that are already present within Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer. We'll have to wait and see what it has in store.

According to a now-deleted tweet from Call of Duty's UK Twitter account, Gunfight will arrive to Modern Warfare 2 in Season Three.
