What is the Genshin Impact Version 4.4 release date?
Genshin Impact Version 4.4 is set to release on January 31, 2024, if it follows the standard 6-week release schedule. Hoyoverse has not deviated from this schedule thus far, so we're likely to see it released on the exact date with a live stream and pre-install available before it releases, as has been the standard. Genshin Impact 4.4 will also bring us the much-awaited annual Lantern Rite Festival and all the anniversary rewards. We're excited to see what Hoyoverse has in store for us this year.
When is the Genshin Impact Version 4.4 livestream?
The Genshin Impact 4.4 livestream will be held on January 19, 2024. As is tradition, the live stream will provide free promo codes to redeem primogems, as well as a full breakdown of Genshin Impact Version 4.4 and all its updates. Genshin Impact Version 4.4 new area
Genshin Impact 4.4 will expand the map and finally give us the long-awaited Chenyu Vale. Chenyu Vale is a location that has often been mentioned in the lore for Liyue. It is located at the intersection between Fontaine, Sumeru, and Liyue. However, it will be placed right above the Sumeru region, leaving a hole in the middle open to future map expansion. Furthermore, the Stormterror's lair gap from Monstadt will not be filled up, but it will set it up nicely for the next map expansion.
While not confirmed, some leaks have shown the area to be a beautiful location filled with turquoise grass and a waterfall-themed city that provides breathtaking views. The area will have sections such as Qiaoying Village, Jademouth, Chenlong Pool, and Yilong Wharf. Furthermore, leaks also suggest that the Anemo Regisvine boss will be added to this region, which aligns with the new 5-star release. Chenyu Vale will play a central role in the story as the new update will feature the Lantern Rite Festival held in Liyue.
Genshin Impact Version 4.4 new characters
The two new characters for the Genshin Impact version 4.4 are confirmed to be the 5-star character Cloud Retainer, who will be referred to as Xianyun, and the Pyro character Gaming (pronounced Gah-ming).
Xianyun
Cloud Retainer, aka Xianyun, will be the featured 5-star of Genshin Impact Version 4.4, and the story will likely revolve around her. She was introduced to us long ago during the events of Liyue and has the status of a legendary Adeptus respected by all. She is set to be an Anemo Catalyst user similar to Sucrose and Wanderer. We're excited to see what her unique kit will bring.

Gaming
Gaming is the second new character from Genshin Impact Version 4.4. He's a completely new character and seems to be affiliated with a transport security company in Liyue. His rarity is yet to be confirmed, but it's likely that he will be a 4-star character.

Cloud Retainer and Gaming will be the feature characters for Genshin Impact 4.4. We're likely to see Cloud Retainer during the first phase, whereas Gaming could be a featured 4-star during either phase. Furthermore, due to the Lantern Rite Festival, it is expected that the other banners will feature characters from Liyue, such as Xiao, Ganyu, and Shenhe.
Xiao features a style similar to Cloud Retainer, and she might be an excellent support for him. Their banners might run concurrently. On the other hand, both Ganyu and Shenhe are getting new skins, making their banner reruns likely.
