How does the new Fortnite ranked system work?

The new ranked system in Fortnite works just like most of its counterparts from other MMOs and MOBAs. This means that you will have a certain rank based on your performance. If you constantly win matches and earn points for defeating your enemies, you will eventually get a higher rank.

What ranks will be available in Fortnite?

There are a few ranks that will be added with this new system. Here is the list of them:

  • Bronze (1-3)
  • Silver (1-3)
  • Gold (1-3)
  • Platinum (1-3)
  • Diamond (1-3)
  • Elite
  • Champion
  • Unreal

The ranks from Bronze to Diamond have three sub-ranks. It means that you will need to earn three levels of Bronze before you can get Silver 1. However, Elite, Champion, and Unreal have only one level.

How does the ranked mode affect your Fortnite matches?

The ranked mode allows you to play with those who have the same rating as you. So, if you are Gold 2, then most of your opponents will also have Gold 2.

However, you can also play together with your friends. If you join a Fortnite match as a squad, the highest rank on your team will determine your team rank. For example, if you are Platinum 1 and your friend is Gold 3, then your team rank is Platinum 1.

How does the Unreal rank work?

The final rank, called Unreal, is a little different from the rest. Once you reach it, you will be unable to drop below it until the end of this season. Instead, you will receive special Unreal Points that will determine your position in the list of the best players. So, reaching this rank is only the beginning, and you will have to make lots of accomplishments if you want to become one of the strongest.

How to earn new ranks in Fortnite

You can earn new ranks by defeating your opponents in Fortnite matches. The exact number of rank points you get after a match depends on the following factors:

  • The place you earned in a match.
  • The number of players you killed in this match.
  • The ranks of the players you killed in this match.
  • The time you killed those players. Those you eliminated in the early game will be less rewarding.

Are there any rewards for playing ranked in Fortnite?

At the beginning of each ranked match, you will receive a special quest. Completing such a quest will reward you with some interesting items and cosmetics. So, there are rewards that you can get by playing ranked.
