Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7 is kicking off with a bang as UFOs invade the island.

The Fortnite meta has experienced an ample amount of changes in recent weeks.

With the Pump Shotgun being out of the weapon pool, it comes to precision aim during most battles.

Skill-based matching making has been a part of Fortnite for over two years now and it has been a hit or miss with players.

With players getting better every day, some of you may be looking to get into easier lobbies.

So, can you turn off SBMM, or how can you get into easier lobbies!

Can You Turn Off Skill-Based Matchmaking?

Unfortunately, there is no possible way to turn off SBMM within Fortnite.

This has been consistent across the game since they implemented SBMM back in previous seasons.

So, if you are looking to get into an easier lobby there are various ways you can manipulate the system into thinking you are a worse player than you actually are.

Just a reminder, Fortnite takes the following into consideration when putting you into a lobby.

  • K/D
  • Win %

So, the better you perform over the course of a few Fortnite matches, the higher your SBMM will rise.

Therefore, if you are looking to get into 'bot' lobbies; then you are going to need to perform worse than usual over multiple days.

This may be infuriating to some of you, but it can lead to some easier matches in the long run!

There are however some ways around it - check out our explanation here.
