Fortnite chapter 3 season 4 start date

Fortnite chapter 3 season 4 started on September 18, 2022. That's when the previous battle pass ends, and as such rolled straight into the next one. There was a brief period of downtime while Epic got the game ready for all the new content, but it's all up and working now.

New weapons

The following two weapons are completely brand new to Fortnite chapter 3 season 4. In keeping with the futuristic theme this season, there are some powerful plasma weapons to get your hands on.

Vaulted weapons

If it were up to us, there are a few Fortnite weapons that would quietly disappear from the rotation with the new season update. Namely, the Hammer Assault Rifle has always been tough to use due to its recoil, so we wouldn't be devastated to see it depart.

Equally, don't be surprised to see either the Two-Shot Shotgun or Auto Shotgun leave with the new season. We've got an awful lot of shotguns in the rotation right now, so it would make sense for Epic to take a few out of the game. These are the ones that departed this season:

  • Charge SMG
  • Combat Assault Rifle
  • Stinger SMG
  • Revolver
  • Auto Shotgun
  • Pump Shotgun
  • Auto Shotgun
  • Two-Shot Shotgun
  • Heavy Sniper Rifle

Unvaulted weapons

On top of that, we'll likely see a few returning favourites, coming back to Fortnite after some time away. If we could pick just one weapon it would be the Mk. 7 Assault Rifle, which has been one of the best guns in the game for a long time.

Alongside that, rumours suggest the main battle pass skin this season will be Spider-Gwen. If that turns out to be true, expect the Web Shooters to return, as they featured prominently when Spider-Man was the marquee character. These are all the familiar guns you can use this time around:

  • Ranger Assault Rifle
  • Hammer Assault Rifle
  • Sidearm Pistol
  • Rapid Fire SMG
  • Suppressed SMG
  • Lever Action Shotgun
  • Prime Shotgun
  • Hunter Bolt-Action Sniper
  • Boom Sniper Rifle
  • Designated Marksman Rifle
  • Shadow Tracker
  • The Dub
  • Candy
  • Pumpkin Launcher

We've also had the return of lightsabers with the Skywalker Week promotion, bringing back all of your favourite Star Wars items to Fortnite. You can read more about that here.

That's it for our look at the Fortnite weapons in chapter 3 season 4! Of course, as soon as new information lands we'll update this guide with all the big changes. Until then, feel free to check out our in-depth look at all things expected in chapter 3 season 4.
