If you're talking about any level of romance, then yes: there are some romantic subplots in Final Fantasy 16. If you're thinking you'll be able to pair Clive up with your choice of character at the Hideaway, then the answer is a resounding no.
This isn't a quasi-dating sim tucked away in another game like Stardew Valley or Story of Seasons. It's more a case of a naturally occurring romantic development between two key characters that you may have already guessed would happen from the first few hours of the story.
Two childhood friends will mend the rift between them at some part of the game, with a couple of cutscenes sealing the deal between the new couple.
The game goes with the will they won't they angle for these two, ultimately culminating in a scene where they're alone and willing to confess their love for one another. You don't need to do anything specific for this. Just let the story play out as usual.
Can you choose a romantic partner to marry in Final Fantasy 16?
Sadly, the answer to this is no. The game does not give you any dialogue options or character choices regarding romance in Final Fantasy 16. The romantic relationship between the two characters hinted at above is set in stone and part of the progression of the main storyline.
You do get the choice of which companion from the Hideaway accompanies you on a mission, which can lead to unique dialogue lines between Clive and your choice, but this does not have any story implications whatsoever.
We do see romantic relationships between other characters, such as Barnabas Tharmr and Benedikta Harman - and Benedikta and Cid, to some extent - however, romance will not be a priority in Final Fantasy 16.
