How to hack in Cyberpunk 2077

After a rocky start to life, Cyberpunk 2077 is now in a relatively healthy position, especially with the upcoming release of the Phantom Liberty expansion. But in this guide, we'll talk you through how to hack in Cyberpunk 2077, as it's a main component of gameplay.

The game has already been heavily praised due to its wide array of customisation options, allowing players to alter almost every detail of their character, and we really do mean everything. Not only are there endless customisation options, but there are also countless areas you can explore and, in turn, discover objects to hack.

Hacking is one of the largest components of Cyberpunk 2077's gameplay, and so we've put together this handy guide on how to do it successfully.

Since the game is set in the futuristic world of Night City, hacking has become a necessary means of survival. However, it can be a bit confusing, so we'll clarify how to hack in Cyberpunk 2077 below!

How to hack in Cyberpunk 2077

There are actually several different types of hacking within Cyberpunk 2077, so it's dependent on what you're trying to break open, and how fast you want to complete the action. Some of these hacks are going to take longer than others, but they are collectively not too bad to handle.

One of the main formings of hacking is quickhacking. This is the route you are more than likely going to take a lot during your adventure in Night City. Once players find something they want to hack, all they need to do is bring up the hacking menu, where there will be a wide array of quickhacking options on the NPC or object they are looking at.

The choices players are granted will ultimately come down to the amount of RAM they have access to. Of course, the most elaborate hacks are going to cost more RAM, so be mindful of this.

Hack access points

Another element that players are able to hack is access points. While wandering through Night City, players will be able to hack objects such as laptops and certain pieces on walls; however, this type of hack takes a bit more than the regular quickhack.

Players will be able to jack into these access points, which will then trigger a puzzle for you to crack. The key here is to enter the correct sequence within the menus to match the outcome you want on the right screen.

This can be tricky at first, but a little problem-solving will go a long way!

But there you have it, that's everything you need to know about how to hack in Cyberpunk 2077. We've got plenty of other guides, so be sure to check out how to romance Johnny Silverhand, as well as how to turn Night City into the Matrix!
