Following the LA Rams leaking a number of Modern Warfare 2 screenshots, many are hoping Infinity Ward shares more information soon.
Will the multiplayer reveal feature the LMP in action? Only time will tell.
The submachine gun (SMG) category in Call of Duty games is one of the more competitive within the weapon arsenal. The majority of SMG's excel in close-quarters combat while some manage to make an impact at longer distances. As fans wait for intel on what Modern Warfare 2 has in store, a wave of leaks share plenty of information.
Ranging from a list of multiplayer Perks to the majority of Killstreaks, leaks are keeping the rumour mill turning as the community waits on Infinity Ward to share more official news on what the game includes.
In addition to Modern Warfare 2 Perks and Killstreaks, a guns list revealing new and returning weapons has appeared. With that said, is the LMP in Modern Warfare 2? Here's what we know about the gun and how it could compare to staples of the franchise.
Is the LMP in Modern Warfare 2?
Thanks to a leak uncovering the majority of the Modern Warfare 2 guns, dataminer "Reality" claims LMP is one of several new additions to Call of Duty.
Based on a variation of the gun from Rogue Company, there's a possibility the LMP is a compact SMG with plenty of customisation potential. On the other hand, the LMP 2000 is a light machine gun (LMG) used by Serbian forces.
Until we get our hands on the game, it's unclear if the LMP is an LMG or an LMG so be sure to check back before the launch of Modern Warfare 2 for more intel.
LMP Call of Duty history
The LMP has never featured in a Call of Duty title. The closest three-letter variation to appear in a Modern Warfare title is the iconic UMP 45 SMG that dominated in 2009's Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer.
With no sign of the UMP making a return in Modern Warfare 2, the LMP could act as a replacement for the SMG or it could fly under the radar as a powerful LMG capable of dominating mid-range and long-distance duels.
Is the LMP in the Modern Warfare 2 beta?
Typically, the beta for any Call of Duty title contains a small slice of content that will appear in the full version of the game once it launches. In the case of the LMP in Modern Warfare 2, there's a chance it could appear in the beta to allow Infinity Ward to gather important data in order to buff and nerf any weapons players think are overpowered.
Once the beta kicks off, we will share the best LMP Modern Warfare 2 loadout to use if it's a mobile SMG or a powerful LMG.
