Wondering whether Alan Wake 2 has fast travel mechanics? You've come to the right place. In this guide, we'll be teaching you how to fast travel in Alan Wake 2, as well as explaining some of the limitations of fast travel that are present in the game.

Fast travel is a luxury that's becoming more and more common in video games. Despite some players arguing that fast travel means players miss out on huge amounts of content, sometimes you simply don't have the time or motivation to run everywhere on foot in games, particularly if you have to retrace your steps frequently.

How do you use fast travel in Alan Wake 2?

Unlike other triple-A games you may be familiar with, Alan Wake 2's fast travel doesn't function in the usual way. Traditionally, players will mark a specific location or 'point of interest' on their map, and then transport themselves there using fast travel.

However, in Alan Wake 2, you're not able to fast travel in this way. Instead, you must navigate the map on foot. With that being said, there is still a way to get between map locations quickly.

Outside of the Dark Place, there are several different locations which you can use fast travel to travel between, such as the iconic town of Bright Falls, the huge Cauldron Lake, and the brand new town of Watery, home to the Coffee World theme park. While playing as Saga, you can use her car to fast travel between these areas. Alan, unfortunately, does not share the privileges of an FBI detective's car to use this fast travel opportunity, however it's not really needed since most of his gameplay involves the Dark Place.
